Back in  July,  I held a contest called,  “Want to star in a Red & Howling cartoon?“.  The response was incredible,  over 1000 people entered and I wanted to cartoon everyone’s amazing fur kids!  The winner,  Dr. Rebecca Feiring sent me some wonderful photos of her fur kids (see below)!  Rebecca is a huge advocate of adoption and her three munchkins were all in need of a home before joining Rebecca’s family.   Here is the cartoon portrait I drew for her:

Rayne —a Rottie mix —is from Devore, a high-kill shelter in California.  On the day she was scheduled to be killed—with less than an hour to spare—Rebecca coordinated with a local rescue who was able to pull Rayne from the shelter.  She loves playing with her toys and snuggling with her mom and dad.

Staples was abandoned by his original owner.  He loves chewing everything and eating baked apple biscuits.

Zorro was about to be euthanized because he was FIV+, so Rebecca swooped in and took him home immediately.  He’s been a fantastic little companion ever since and he loves hanging out on his “catio”.
