After volunteering at Muttville Senior Dog Rescue for a few years, we decided to foster a dog for the 1st time. When we asked who we should take home with us, we got a resounding “Aw, take Perla!” & so we did! I knew 3 days in that she wasn’t going anywhere! Epic foster failure!!! At 13 years old, she’d been dumped at a kill shelter before Christmas after living in the same home her whole life:( Muttville saved her & we were blessed with nearly 3 years of her sweet, hilarious, grateful spirit. She passed away before Thanksgiving 2017 at almost 16. She made us laugh every single day & we miss her more than we can say. We love you Perla Bear forever & ever.

Older dogs are the best! I adopted mine as a senior everyone thought had not long to go. 8 is old for a Great Dane. Mustang has given me 5 years of love and leaning. My large lap dog is now 13 and sadly she will soon go. I will always think the seniors more than worthy of a second lease on life.
